This museum is a real gem. Wonderful and inspiring story of Jordan and Middle East told interactively and entertainingly both for young and adults. Worth every dinar spent, definitely recommended.

This museum is heavy in content and interesting on how the alphabet has evolved during the century. I highly recommend to visit this museum.

Highlights include the Ayn Ghazal Statues — plaster figures that are thought to date to 7,500BC — and the Copper Scroll, which, found in the same caves as the Dead Sea Scrolls, talks of lost treasure.

The copper scrolls have been moved here permanently from the Archaeological Museum at the citadel.

Visit the Jordan Archaeological Museum – The museum is located on the Citadel Hill and was built in 1951. It presents artefacts from Jordan’s archaeological sites that date back from prehistoric times
