Avoid Flybe. They are robbers. They will steal your money by forcing you to check in your luggages. 35£ a piece. Shame on them!

For people travelling with the little ones, who want the experience over as soon as possible, Southampton is much faster than Gatwick or Heathrow.

Compared to the headache that is Gatwick, Southampton airport is a breeze. It’s clean and quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Shopping is obviously limited but they cover the essentials.

Good little airport, well laid out and proportionate for the flights it serves, not impressed by the lack of free drop off zones (you have to pay £1 to drop people off and you have to use the car park
