La Foiba di Basovizza è un profondo pozzo minerario, scavato all'inizio del XX secolo per l'estrazione del carbone. Qui nel maggio '45 venne occultato all'interno del pozzo un numero imprecisato di cadaveri di prigionieri, militari e civili trucidati dall'esercito e dai partigiani jugoslavi.
