There is also the permanent bronze statue of the ‘Pioneer Mother’ (and children) – who represents the only statue of a female within the park. The piece by American educator and sculptor Charles Grafly was made in 1914, and was featured at the PPIE (Panama-Pacific International Exposition) in 1915.
