Central downtown. Free WiFi connection. Inexpensive. Really friendly staff. I was pretty happy during my stay.

Great location, we were able to walk to the aquarium with little trouble, valet parking takes awhile to get your car. Room was comfortable and affordable, clean room, and great happy hour for guests!

Nice hotel, a bit annoying that you have to use a key to access the elevator though.

Anyone else notice a degradation in service and food quality? Used to love coming here, but my most recent visit has been...yeah.

It’s original name was the Winecoff and in 1946, a fire killed 119 people in the guaranteed “fireproof hotel.”

The restaurant is amazing - locally-sourced food, perfectly fresh and perfectly prepared. The food is better than the wine, and the service is best of all!

Originally the Winecoff Hotel & first opened its doors in 1913. It is best known for a fire that occurred on Dec 7, 1946, in which 119 people died (deadliest in US history). Renamed the Ellis in 2007.

This hotel has a noteworthy history as the scene of America's deadliest hotel fire in 1946 when it was known as the Winecoff Hotel - it's now a nice boutique hotel complete with sprinklers..
